Over 15 houses gutted in fire in a village in Odisha’s Cuttack

Over 15 houses were gutted in a major blaze that broke out at Bada Chanchua village under Nakhara panchayat in Tangi-Choudwar block of Odisha’s Cuttack district this evening.

While household goods and harvested paddy stacks have been reduced to ashes, there has been no casualty, reports said.

The blaze has been brought under control by firefighters.

Reportedly, the fire first broke out in the house of an old lady who was offering pooja by lighting earthen lamps and later spread to other houses as most of them had thatched roofs.
