15 platoons to keep vigil on roads, bathing ghats in Odisha capital during Holi

Bhubaneswar: At least 15 platoons of police personnel will be deployed across the Odisha capital here to check any untoward incident during the celebration of Holi festival on March 26 (Tuesday).

The Commissionerate Police will deploy security personnel as well as members of Strike Force at 31 places across the city for smooth conduct of the festival of colours.

Besides, the city police will form at least 17 mobile teams to keep tab on anti-social elements in the capital. Police personnel will be deployed at four bathing ghats in the city, sources said.

The police will take stern action against drunk driving during the festival. Stalls selling chemical colours will also face police action.

The police will scan the footage from the CCTVs installed at vantage points across the city frequently to keep an eye on anti-social elements, sources added.
