15-YO girl gang-raped multiple times in Maharashtra; 26 held

Mumbai: In a horrific crime, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped multiple times over the course of nine months in Maharashtra.

Police revealed today after arresting 24 accused persons and detaining two minor boys in connection with the gangrape of a minor girl.

Police said that the girl was gang-raped by 29 persons including two minor boys since January this year.

The girl’s boyfriend had allegedly raped her in January and shot a video. Later, the accused’s friends blackmailed her and gang-raped her four to five times at different locations near Mumbai, informed Additional Commissioner of Police (East region) Dattatray Karale.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, 24 accused persons were apprehended and two minor boys were detained.

A case has been registered against the accused persons under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police source said that the accused arrested in the case have reportedly association with a political party.
