16 more COVID-19 patients die in Odisha, toll at 286

Bhubaneswar: As many as 16 more COVID-19 patients died in Odisha while undergoing treatment at hospitals, official sources said today. While 14 of them died due to COVID-19, two succumbed to other health issues.

Those who died of COVID-19 have been identified as a 30-year-old man of Nayagarh district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, a 34-year-old man of Nayagarh district, a 78-year-old man of Nayagarh district, an 84-year-old woman of Bhubaneswar, an 82-year-old man of Khordha district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension, a 69-year-old man of Khordha district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, an 85-year-old man of Ganjam district, a 65-year-old man of Ganjam district, a 70-year-old woman of Ganjam district who was also suffering from hypertension, a 50-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from end-stage Chronic Kidney Disease, a 55-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes, a 50-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, a 46-year-old man of Rayagada district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension, and a 72-year-old man of Sundergarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes.

Besides, a 27-year-old COVID positive woman of Balasore district died due to amniotic fluid embolism while a 45-year-old COVID positive woman of Sundergarh district succumbed to Decompensated Chronic Liver Disease, hepatic encephalopathy and ventricular tachycardia.

With this, the COVID toll in Odisha mounted to 286 while 51 COVID-19 patients have so far died of other health complications.
