1617 new COVID-19 infections in Odisha; Khordha highest at 222

Bhubaneswar:  Another 1617 persons in Odisha tested positive for deadly Coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the state’s total count to 2,87,099.

Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 941 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 676 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department today.

Khordha recorded highest 222 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (127)  and Sundargarh (93).

Currently, the number of total active cases in the state stands at 15,619 and recovered cases at 2,70,130.
