162 COVID-19 cases detected in Cuttack city; details here

Cuttack:  Of the 222 COVID-19  positive cases reported from Cuttack district in the last 24 hours, 162 cases belong to the city (CMC area). With this, the city’s tally mounted to 2678.

Of the 162 fresh cases, 69 were under home quarantine, 62 are local contacts and  31 were under institutional quarantine.

As per the data shared by Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), highest 25 number of persons, including 12 females from Tala Sahi in Chauliaganj (Ward-42) have tested positive for the virus. Besides, 17 cases, including nine females have been detected from Thoria Sahi. All of them were under home quarantine after coming in contact with previous positive cases. 

The local contact cases include 15 cases from  Mathasahi, five from Bidyadharpur and four from Nayabazar.

With detection of the fresh cases, the number of active cases in the city rose to 1018. While 1647 have recovered, 13 patients succumbed to the virus so far.
