Puri, Apr 14:

Supporters of Odisha Congress today waved black flags at Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare (FS &CW) Minister Sanjay Das Burma while he was on a tour of Puri to inaugurate the Aahar scheme of the State Government.

CONGRESS PROTEST Puri

Six workers of Youth Congress waved the flags and shouted slogans against the minister demanding his resignation while he was on his way to the venue along with Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharathy.

All six agitators were quickly nabbed by the police. Later, the cops detained eight supporters of Congress for further questioning in connection with the incident.

It may be noted Congress has been gunning for Das Burma’s head after senior party leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra (Lulu) indirectly alleged that Das Burma has links with Odisha chit fund scam and has received a Pajero SUV from chit fund company AT Group.

Sanjay, on the other hand, broke his silence after the incident today and said that the entire episode is a conspiracy against him.

“Quite like the Madhabilata incident, this is also a conspiracy against me. I call upon the opposition leaders to provide supporting documents to back their claims. CBI is investigating the case and I have submitted necessary documents they expected from me. Let CBI complete the investigation. I will quit politics, if I am found guilty,” said Das Burma.
