166 new COVID-19 cases in Bhubaneswar; here’re details

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally is inching towards 4,000-mark in Bhubaneswar with 166 fresh confirmed cases reported in the last 24 hours.

Of new cases, 98 have been detected in quarantine centres and 68 are local contacts, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today.

A total of 322 COVID-19 cases has been reported from Khordha district in the last 24 hours, of which 166 are from Bhubaneswar.

The slums in Bhubaneswar continue to become a worrying factor for the local authorities as maximum number of positive cases are being reported from there.

As per the details of fresh cases shared by the BMC authorities today, 17 more persons linked with a previous case have tested positive for COVID-19 in Salia Sahi area.

Similarly, 13 new cases including 8 females linked with an earlier positive case have been detected in a quarantine centre in the city.

With 166 new cases, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 3929, of which 1435 are active.

Meanwhile, 113 persons infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours taking the total recovery count to 2473 in Bhubaneswar. The virus has claimed 19 lives in the State capital so far.
