17 awarded at Brands of Odisha. Pride of India: Sambad Corporate Excellence Awards-2019

Bhubaneswar: As many as 17 homegrown entrepreneurs/enterprises, who have made their presence felt beyond the state also, were felicitated at the second edition of Brands of Odisha. Pride of India: Sambad Corporate Excellence Awards here today.

Sambad itself is a fine brand in the realm of media, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik described the No1 media conglomerate in the state on the sidelines of the one-of-its kind award ceremony.

Addressing the august gathering as chief guest, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said: “In the age of market economy and globalization both the challenges and opportunities for corporate sector are humongous. Developing a brand, making it acceptable with continuous strive for value addition is certainly a great challenge. In this context, the people who successfully developed respectable brands are inspirational leaders. I commend their efforts. Over the last several years, Odisha has made a name for itself in the area of business and industry. We are the leading state in the east of doing business and attracting investment.”

“Our policy initiatives for industries, startups and skill development have boosted the confidence of investors in us. Brands like living organisms that require continuous support from root whether for human beings or for an organization or for a brand trust is the most important thing. Trust deficiency can lead to death of a brand.  So we must endeavour to work hard to keep intact the trust of the people in our brand. I believe in the next few years, many more brands will come up in Odisha to become the pride of India and we will succeed to develop a culture of trade and industry. I congratulate Sambad for recognizing and promoting homegrown brands. Sambad itself is a fine brand in the realm of media. Over the years, it is growing in all formats; I wish it all success in future endeavors,” Patnaik further said.

The felicitation ceremony organized at a city-based hotel here was attended by the bigwigs of industry. The awardees were shortlisted by a panel of three-member jury. They were: Neena Dasgupta (CEO and Director, ZIRCA Digital Solutions Pvt Ltd), Swarup Mohanty (CEO, Mirae Asset Global Investments (I) Pvt Ltd) and Bishwajeet Samal (Head of Marketing, Volkswagen Passenger Cars).

MD of Sambad Group Monica Nayyar Patnaik in her opening address expressed: “I am overwhelmed to say that we received an unexpected number of entries this year. It was not restricted to Bhubaneswar or Cuttack. Rather, we received nominations from smaller towns of Odisha too. I extend my gratitude to the entrepreneurs for their love and support.”

Prior to the felicitation ceremony, Rajya Sabha MP and Editor Sambad Soumya Ranjan Patnaik addressed the gathering.

“If we look for a person born in Odisha who is famous all over the country, then it would be none other than Naveen Patnaik. On behalf of Sambad Group, I personally thank Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for encouraging the initiative by way of gracing us with his presence,” Patnaik said.

“The role is media is to connect. This is an attempt to connect the entrepreneurs with the people of Odisha and world. It is our immense pleasure to bring the leading homegrown entrepreneurs under one roof that has made Odisha proud. Our initiative would definitely encourage the budding entrepreneurs in the coming days. We can achieve much bigger success, the example being the successful hosting of men’s hockey world cup held in Bhubaneswar last November. Like it made Odisha famous across the globe,” he concluded.
