17 Corona warriors among 76 test COVID-19 +ve in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: Another 17 coronavirus warriors among 76 have tested positive for COVID-19 in Ganjam district of Odisha, informed Ganjam district administration today.

The district reported the fresh cases in last 24 hours. The new COVID warrior cases included 6 from Aska, 1 from Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area, 4 from Bhanjanagar, 1 from Dharakote, 3 from KS Nagar and 2 from Polasara.

Theee new positive cases have travel history to Mumbai, Srikakulam and Madhya Pradesh. These persons are from Purusottampur, Chatrapur and Bellaguntha areas.

Out of fresh cases, 56 are local contacts linked with previous positive cases. While 3 local cases have been reported from Aska, 2 have been found positive for COVID-19 from Bellaguntha, 6 from BeMC, 1 from Bhanjanagar, 4 from Buguda, 9 from Chatrapur, 1 from Dharakote, 2 from Digapahandi, 3 from Hinjili, 10 from KS Nagar, 1 from Khalikote, 1 from Kukudahandi, 4 from Patrapur, 5 from Polasara, 2 from Purusottampur and 2 from Sanakhemundi.

All the positive cases have been shifted to COVID hospitals, the district administration said.

With fresh cases, the COVID-19 tally in Ganjam district surged to 1271 with 403 active cases and 859 recovered cases. However, 9 COVID-19 patients have succumbed to the disease so far.
