17-member UK biz team to arrive Tuesday

A 17-member business delegation from the United Kingdom, led by British Deputy High Commissioner to Eastern India Scott Furssedonn-Wood will arrive in the city here on Tuesday to expedite bilateral economic and business ties between the UK and Odisha.

The UK delegation would mostly comprise the corporate heads of UK industries in the private sector.

During its visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet the chief minister and senior officials of the state, representatives of the state’s Chambers of Commerce and Industries and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The Deputy High Commission would organise a seminar on “UK and Odisha in partnership” on Tuesday at Hotel Mayfair to be attended by senior state government officials and representatives of major business groups, sources in the Press and Public Affairs of British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata, said.

At the seminar, the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) would present a special paper on DFID’s support for private sector development in Odisha and India.
