19-day-old baby succumbs to COVID-19 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A 19-day-old baby boy has succumbed to COVID-19 in the state. The deceased belonged to Balasore district.

Earlier last month, the state saw death of the youngest COVID infectee after a 3-day-old baby died of the virus. Seven children aged below 18 years have succumbed to the disease in January.

As per the Health and Family Welfare Department, the state has added 21 COVID deaths, following which the toll mounted to 8,775. The 21 death cases include three each from Jajpur and Mayurbhanj, two each from Balasore, Cuttack and Sundargarh and one each from Dhenkanal,  Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Keonjhar, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada and Puri.

Details of cases:

1.A 42 years old Male of Balasore District who was also suffering from Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy and acute on chronic kidney disease.

2.A 19 days old Male Child of Balasore District.

3.A 32 years old Male of Bhadrak District.

4.A 45 years old Female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Hypertension.

5.A 63 years old Male of Cuttack District.

6.A 28 years old Male of Dhenkanal District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease, Hypertension.

7.A 23 years old Female of Ganjam District who was also suffering from Sickle Cell Disease on Reglat Blood Transfusion.

8.A 62 years old male of Jagatsinghpur District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.

9.A 67 years old Male of Jajpur District who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease.

10.A 72 years old Male of Jajpur District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Cerebro Vascular Accident & Motor neurone disease.

11.A 55 years old Male of Jajpur District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Cerebro Vascular Accident & Chronic Kidney Disease.

12.A 75 years old Male of Khordha District who was also suffering from Benign prostatic hyperplasia, Dilated cardiomyopathy.

13.A 70 years old Male of Keonjhar District.

14.A 65 years old Female of Kendrapara District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

15.A 75 years old Female of Mayurbhanja District who was also suffering from Hypertensive Cardiomyopathy.

16.A 7 years old Female of Mayurbhanja District.

17.A 70 years old Male of Mayurbhanja District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Chronic Kidney Disease.

18.A 60 years old Female of Nuapada District.

19.A 80 years old Female of Puri District who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

20.A 3 Months old Male Child of Sundargarh District.

21.A 9 years old Male Child of Sundargarh District who was also suffering from Adult acute myeloid leukemia & Central Nervous System involvement on Chemo Therapy.
