19-year old boy held for ‘kidnap and rape’

Bhubaneswar, Sept-21:

Acting on a tip-off, the Commissionerate Police on Saturday nabbed a 19-year old boy from Angul for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl in the city.

The accused was identified as Mithun Kumar Sahu of Nirakarpur in Khurda district, was staying in the city.

On August 15 this year, the accused had allegedly kidnapped a minor girl of Unit-3 here. The girl’s father had filed an FIR with the Mahila Police station the next day saying his daughter had been kidnapped.

The accused, Mithun, who had been on the run was nabbed finally from Anugul And forwarded to the court today,police said.
