1977 COVID-19 cases reported in Odisha; Khordha reports highest 332 cases

Bhubaneswar: As many as  1977 more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha in the 24 hours taking the state’s total count to 54,630, informed the Government.

While 1241 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 736 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from all the 30 districts with Khordha registering highest 332 cases followed by Ganjam (280) and  Mayurbhanj (120).

 

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 16,353. However, 37,900 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that highest 42,761 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 8,07,826 tests have been conducted in the state.
