1st phase medical counselling ends in Odisha, 1274 selected for admission

Bhubaneswar, June 30:

A total of 1274 students were found eligible for admission in the government and private medical colleges in Odisha in the first phase counselling that ended this afternoon.

The online choice locking has begun this evening on the DMET website www.dmetodisha.gov.in that would continue till 10 PM tomorrow.medical doctors

“The process of allotment of seats would begin at 6 AM on July 2 wherein the students will have to download their allotment papers from the DMET website after logging in their username and password. From the allotment letter, they can know in which college they would be admitted and which courses they have been provided according to their ranks. Later, they would take admission in their respective institutes by showing their allotment letter to the concerned authorities. The admission process would be completed by July 3”, said Umakant Satpathy, joint director, DMET.

He also informed that for the vacant seats, the second and third phase counselling would be held in the last week of July and first week of week of September.

Counselling for admission in 650 MBBS seats and 150 BDS seats is being held in the first phase.

However, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has not given permission for admission in 100 MBBS seats each in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack and Sardar Raja Medical College and Hospital at Jaring in Kalahandi district.
