Bhubaneswar: Two retired IAS officers, who were acting as advisors to the Odisha government, have resigned from their posts.
Former Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, who was acting as the chief advisor to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), has tendered resignation from his post.
Similarly, retired IAS officer R. Balakrishnan, who was acting as the chief advisor (Special Initiatives) to the state government, has also resigned from his post.
The resignations of both Mahapatra and Balakrishnan were accepted with effect from June 5, said two separate office orders of the General Administration department.
These two former IAS officers had been appointed as advisors to the state government by the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in Odisha.
They have resigned from their posts a day after BJD lost power to BJP in Odisha in the just concluded Assembly polls in the state.
