2-day shutdown announced in these parts of Odisha district

Sambalpur: Following increase in number of COVID-19 positive cases in Sambalpur, the district administration today declared a shutdown in some parts of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) for two days i.e on July 9 and July 10.

The shutdown will be enforced in Burla area (from Ward-3 to Ward-7) under the  SMC barring the VIMSAR campus.

Intra-district movement of public and private vehicles, public movement will be restricted while shop and other commercial establishments, Government and private institutions will remain shut during the shutdown, informed officials.

However, emergency services such as all medical establishments, medicine stores, movement of state and central Government officials on emergency duty, petrol pumps, milk booths, movement of goods  carriers, agricultural activities, marriages and funerals with permission of local authorities will be operational.

“Any deviations in this regard shall be viewed seriously and the violators will be prosecuted as per law,” warned the district administration.
