Kakatpur: In a tragic mishap, two persons were killed and over 10 hurt, five of them critically, after a pick-up van turned turtle in Astaranga in Odisha's Puri district today. The incident took place on Kakatpur-Nayagarh road near Jagannathpur.

As per reports, 18 betel farmers were travelling in a pick-up van with bundles of betel leaves for sale at a local haat in Nayahat when the vehicle overturned. While two of them died on the spot, over 10 others were hurt. Five of them were critically injured.

All the victims were rushed to Chari Chhak hospital for treatment. The critical patients were later referred to a hospital in Bhubaneswar after their condition deteriorated.
