2 die of asphyxiation while cleaning well in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Bhubaneswar: Two persons reportedly died of asphyxiation while cleaning a well in Kamakhyanagar area of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today.

The deceased have been identified as Sashibhushan Sahoo (52) and Bhajaman Behera (45) of Sarakishorepala village under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal.

Sahoo had engaged Behera to clean his well today afternoon. Behera went into the well but he did not return for a long time, villagers said

Suspecting something unpleasant, Sahoo too entered into the well and did not come out, they added.

On being informed, Fire Brigade personnel reached the spot and recovered the bodies of Sahoo and Behera from the well.

The bodies were later sent to Parjang Community Health Centre (CHC) for postmortem.
