2 former MLAs quit BJD in Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: Former legislators Siba Sankar Sahani and Harihar Sahu today quit Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Sahani and Sahu were previously elected from Berhampur and Hinjili Assembly constituency segments, respectively. The former MLAs sent their resignation letters to the party supremo Naveen Patnaik.

The former MLA duo tendered their resignations from the primary membership of BJD. Both Sahani and Sahu mentioned in the letters that they were being neglected by the party.

It is pertinent to mention, three-time legislator Sahani was elected in 2000 and 2009 on the BJD ticket. Earlier, he was elected in 1985 from Berhampur seat on a Congress ticket.

Sahu was elected as a candidate of Janata Dal in 1990. Subsequently, he joined BJD.
