2 hardcore Maoists carrying bounty surrender before Odisha police

Two hardcore Maoists, including a woman, carrying bounty on their head surrendered before Odisha police in Malkangiri district today.

The surrendered duo was identified as Rama Kawasi (38) of Bodigeta village under Kalimela police limits in the district and Weli Madkami (25) of Bada Tekguda village in the district.

Rama worked as DCM in Boipariguda Area Committee under the MKVB division under the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of outlawed CPI (Maoist) organisation from the year 2002 to 2017 and was carrying a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head.

He was involved in many cases including those of murder, blasting and arsoning.

Similarly, Weli worked as ACM in Boipariguda Area Committee under the MKVB division under the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee of outlawed CPI (Maoist) organisation from the year 2006 to 2017 and was carrying a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh on her head.
