Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate police today arrested two persons in Odisha capital for allegedly uploading objectionable photo of a girl on social media.

The arrested have been identified as Raju Rout (23) of Raghunathpur under Nandankanan police limits here and Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak (51) of Chandrasekharpur here.

According to police sources, the girl had rejected Raju's proposal to marry him following which he uploaded the photo on social media. After the photo went viral, Nayak, a neighbour of the girl, created a fake Facebook profile using it.

On being aware about the whole incident, the victim had lodged a complaint with Chandrasekharpur police, on the basis of which the duo was arrested under Sections 506, 354, 465, 469, 34, 66-C, 67 and 67-B of IPC. They have been forwarded to court.
