2 ITI students from Mayurbhanj outshine many in all India level trade test

Baripada: Two students from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Baripada town of Mayurbhanj have excelled in all India level trade test conducted by Director General of Training, a source said today.

The achievers are Umesh Kumar Mahanta and Nikamani Soren. The girl Nikamani has stood as topper in carpentry trade and the boy Umesh stood third in machine tool maintenance, principal of the training institute Suresh Chandra Padhi informed.

Umesh is the son of a marginal farmer from the district and he spent his childhood days in penury. “I owe my achievements to my parents and all teachers of the institute,” the boy said.

Similarly, Nikamani belongs to a tribal family of Mayurbhanj and she had previously taken admission to the ITI on advice of her parents. She excelled due to the support and guidance of principal Padhi and other teachers in the institute. “I stood a topper in all India level,” the girl expressed.

Principal Padhi, trade trainers Subrat Kumar Ojha and Dibyaranjan Das congratulated the two students for their rare feats and wished them all success in the future.
