2 kids among 3 crushed to death by speeding car in Odisha’s Angul

Bhubaneswar: Two kids and an elderly woman were killed when a speeding car hit them on a village road at Gobara in Talcher area of Angul district in Odisha today.

The incident took place when the kids—Punam Pradhan and Gugu—were playing on the road, sources said.

The speeding car hit Punam, Gugu and Pramila Pradhan, an elderly woman, when the driver lost control over the vehicle, sources said.

Pramila died on the spot while Punam and Gugu sustained critical injuries in the incident, villagers said.

The two kids were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) by their family members. The duo died while being treated at the hospital, sources said.

The villagers, meanwhile, claimed that the driver was in a drunken state during the incident.

“The villagers have thrashed the driver and detained him,” said a source.
