2 minor sisters drown in pond in Odisha’s Puri

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two minor sisters drowned in a pond in Odisha’s Puri district today.

The deceased were identified as Smruti Rekha Baral (12) and Subhashree Baral (9) of Mathasahi village under Dabhar panchayat in Gop block of Puri district.

The Smruti Rekha and Subhashree drowned while bathing in the village pond today morning. Their family members launched a frantic search after the two sisters did not return home.

The two sisters were later rescued from the pond in a critical condition and rushed to a hospital at Gop by their family members.

However, the duo was declared brought dead by the doctors.
