2 minors dead after motorcycle collides with tree in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Kesinga: In a freak road mishap, two minor boys were killed on the spot as the motorcycle on which they were travelling collided with a tree on the roadside near Alim village under Palam outpost and Kesinga police limits in Kalahandi district, today morning.

The deceased were identified as Debaraj Bhoi and Subham Dora, who belonged to the village.

According to a police source, Debaraj and Subham were on their way back home after buying vegetables from a marketplace in Palam when the fatal mishap occurred. The duo lost control of the ill-fated two-wheeler (registration number OD-03 Y-8495) and hit a tree leading to deaths. The minors were taken by some locals to a nearby hospital in Kesinga where doctors declared them ‘dead’.

“Front portion of the motorcycle has mangled in the incident,” an eyewitness said.

On being informed, Kesinga police reached the spot and seized the bodies along with the vehicle. Police have registered a case in this connection and launched a probe, which is underway.

The bodies of two minors were sent for post-mortem and a report is awaited.
