2 minors meet watery grave while taking bath in pond in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Th Rampur: Two male children aged around six years drowned today while taking a bath in a pond at Durespadar village of Padepadar panchayat under Thuamul Rampur block in Kalahandi district.

The deceased were identified as Suresh Nayak, son of Asman Nayak and Shantanu Nayak, son of Ishwar Nayak, both from Durespadar village.

According to a source, the two children had gone to the pond near their village in the morning to take a bath when the fatal mishap occurred. They slipped deep into the water and drowned.

However, the reason as to how the two minors drowned has not been ascertained yet.

On being informed by some locals, a team of police reached the village and launched a probe. Police have seized the bodies and sent them to a nearby hospital for post-mortem.
