Bhubaneswar: In a major boost towards combating COVID-19, as many as two more COVID care centres will become operational in Odisha's Khordha district.
An MoU between the Khordha District Administration and IMS & SUM Hospital was today signed in this regard.
While 500-bedded COVID care centre will become operational at Jamujhari, a 300-bedded COVID care centre will be functional at Jatani.
The two facilities will be used for the treatment of mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.

Currently, there is one COVID care centre in the district at Mahatma Gandhi Academy of Prisons and Correctional Services, Chatabar, Bhubaneswar with a capacity of 200 beds.
This apart, the district has two COVID hospitals-- KIMS Hospital and SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
