Bhubaneswar: Two students from Odisha participated in the ‘Olympics in Reel Life’ event, which was organised yesterday by Abhinav Bindra Foundation in Mumbai. Along with the students, two physical education teachers (PETs) from the State also took part in it, a source said today.
The students are Pratyasha Swain from Government High School in Unit-4 and Soumya Ranjan Barik from Government High School in VSS Nagar of Bhubaneswar. They gave speeches on the successful implementation of Olympic Values in different government-run schools across Odisha.
A show on Olympic Values exhibited by the two Odia students was the main attraction of the mega event, wherein, audio-visuals prepared by these Odia students were shown during the programme.
Worth mentioning, this is a Festival of Films and Photographs presented by the Film Heritage Foundation in partnership with the Olympic Museum and in collaboration with the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Abhinav Bindra Foundation.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik previously launched the ‘Olympic Value Based Education Programme’ in about 90 schools of Khordha and Sundargarh districts nearly one and half years ago. The programme was started with a tie-up between the School and Mass Education (S&ME) department and the Abhinav Bindra Foundation.
The Government has plans to extend the programme to five more districts in the second phase.
