2 Odisha teachers suspended for attending political party meet

Bhubaneswar: Two schoolteachers have been suspended from service on allegations of attending the meeting of a political party in Nabarangpur district ahead of the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha.

The two schoolteachers of Papadahandi block have been placed under suspension by Nabarangpur Kamal Lochan Mishra.

There were allegations that Goutam Charan Sahu, a teacher at Pitariguda Upper Primary School and Manoj Kumar Bhatra, posted at Pujariguda school, had attended the meeting of a particular political party ahead of twin polls in the state.

The Collector suspended the two teachers for flouting service code after receiving a complaint in this regard.
