2 years after love marriage, woman ‘murdered’ by in-laws in Odisha  

Berhampur: A woman was allegedly hammered to death by her in-laws at Gobindapur village under Sheragada police limits in Ganjam district today.

The deceased has been identified as Pinky Swain (24), daughter of Nari Swain of Gobindapur village.

Sources said Pinky had married her lover Firoj of the same village two years back with the consent of both of their family members. This morning, Pinky’s body was found in a pool of blood in her in-laws’ house. However, no one was present in the house when the body was recovered.

Though the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, it is alleged that Pinky has been killed by her in-laws since the latter is missing after incident.

Meanwhile, police have sent the body for post-mortem and began a probe into the incident.
