2 youths dead after speeding truck rams into motorcycle in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Anandapur: Two youths were killed on the spot as the ill-fated motorcycle on which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a speeding truck near Chandi-Biranchipur Chhak and Anandapur village on SH-53 under Nandipada police limits in Bhadrak district.

According to a police source, the bike-borne youths were on their way from Bhadrak town to elsewhere in the district when they met with an accident in the morning at around 11.00 am.

“A youth driving the motorcycle lost control of the two-wheeler and came to the front of the truck leading to the fatal road mishap. The truck was coming from Anandapur and moving towards Bhadrak town. Unfortunately, the youths were hit by the truck and died on the spot,” an eyewitness said.

Tension was triggered in the nearby areas following the road mishap. However, on being informed by some locals, Nandipada police reached the accident site and seized the bodies and sent them to the hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case in this connection and launched a probe.

Police later convinced the irate locals after which normalcy was restored.
