2 youths die on spot after speeding truck hits motorcycle in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Odapada: Two youths were killed on the spot as the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding truck at a place around 200 metres away from Kantabania police station under Odapada block in Dhenkanal district, today.

The deceased were identified as 24-year-old Asish Ranjan Samal who belonged to Nuahata village and 25-year-old Chittaranjan Sahu who belonged to Chauridiha village, both under Banarpal police limits of Angul district.

According to a police source, Asish and Chittaranjan were on their way from GMR side to Nuahata in the afternoon, when they met with an accident. The truck coming from the front hit them leading to the. Driver of the speeding truck fled from the spot soon after the road mishap.

On being informed, Kantabania police reached the spot and seized the bodies. Police have registered a case in this connection and launched a probe to ascertain the cause behind the accident.

Tension was triggered in the nearby areas and locals agitated on the road.
