22 cops from Odisha to receive police medals on Republic Day-2022

Bhubaneswar: As many as 22 police personnel in different ranks from Odisha have been selected to receive prestigious police medals on the occasion of Republic Day-2022 tomorrow.

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the names of total 939 police personnel across the country for medals under 3 categories: Police Medal for Gallantry, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service, ahead of Republic Day-2022.

On the auspicious occasion, 189 police personnel will be conferred with Police Medal for Gallantry, 88 President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPM) and 662 Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

While 9 police personnel from Odisha will be awarded Police Medal for Gallantry, two from the State will receive the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 11 police personnel from the State have been named in the list of Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

In addition, five personnel from Odisha out of 25 personnel/volunteers will also be awarded Home Guard & Civil Defence Medals on the occasion of the Republic Day, 2022. Of these, President’s Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Distinguished Service and Home Guards and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service are awarded to 2 personnel and 23 personnel respectively.
