Bhubaneswar: Odisha's COVID-19 tally today surged to 64,533 after 2239 persons in the state tested positive for deadly virus in the last 24 hours, informed the Government.
While 1416 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 823 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The fresh cases have been reported from 29 districts with Khordha registering highest 419 cases followed by Ganjam (246) and Nayagarh (147).
With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 20,339. However, 43,779 patients have recovered in the state so far.
