Abhishek Tripathy, Rank 151 Abhishek Tripathy, Rank 151

Expressing happiness over his success, Abhishek Tripathy, who secured 151st rank in the examination, said; "There are two ways of doing things. Either you do your own work by leaving all other work or you do your work with other works. Once you become a bureaucrat, you will constantly be in the middle of chaotic situations. In such situations, it is important to discharge your official duty with a cool mind and at the same time look after your family. This type of training you get from civil service examinations. Yes, there will be distractions either from your parents and relatives or from your friends. Hence it is very important to remain at peace and focussed."

Tripathy said he is very happy to know that several Odia students have successfully cleared the examinations.

“My message to the aspiring students is one should work with peace and patience and keep away from all negative sources. If you are inspired by anyone or you receive positive response, you should stay with them. If you don’t feel inspired, if you develop negativity and hopelessness, it is dangerous”, he observed.

It was the first time that the UPSC has declared the final results within four days of the closing date of the interviews.

Out of a total of 9.45 lakh, 4.51 lakh had cleared the preliminary examination of which 16,933 candidates qualified for the main examination held in December, 2014.

The examination was held for a total of 1,364 posts.
