28-YO missing youth found dead under mysterious circumstances in Cuttack

Cuttack: A 28-year-old mason, who was missing for the last couple of days, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Mahanadi riverbed under Bidanasi police limits in Cuttack today.

The deceased identified as Azad Yadav was a native of Chakasiya village in Bihar.

Sources said Yadav had come to Cuttack on February 25 for work and later went missing. A day after, his relative lodged a missing complaint at Saheed Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar.

Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said suspecting his link in Cuttack, police had launched a search operation to locate him. Today, his bloodstained body was recovered from Bidanasi area today. Prima facie, it is suspected to be a case of homicide, he added.

“We have already begun an investigation into the incident. There are few suspects in this case. Soon, we will detain them for interrogation,” said the DCP, who was present at the spot along with a scientific team for probe.
