29 places in Odisha record day temperature at 40 Degrees Celsius or above

Bhubaneswar: With mercury on the rise at many places in Odisha, at least twenty-nine places of the State witnessed day temperature at 40 Degrees Celsius or above, today.

Baripada town recorded the highest day (maximum) temperature at 43.6 Degrees Celsius, followed by Nuapada, and Paralakhemundi each (42.4), Talcher, and Boudh each (42.0), Bhubaneswar, and Malkangiri each (41.9), Nayagarh, and Angul each (41.7), Chandbali (41.6), Khordha, Titilagarh, and Jagatsinghpur each (41.5), Jharsuguda (41.4), Balasore (41.1), Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, and Bhadrak each (41.0), Bolangir, Cuttack, and Bhawanipatna each (40.8), Sambalpur  (40.6), Hirakud, and Chhatrapur each  (40.4), Rourkela (40.3) and Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sonepur, and Nabarangpur each  (40.0).

Temperature forecast: Maximum (day) temperature is very likely to rise by 2°C to 4°C at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next three days and no large change thereafter.

Notably, people are to take precautionary measures while going outside during the day hours between 1100 Hrs IST and 1500 Hrs IST, the IMD regional centre in Bhubaneswar advised through a special bulletin.
