3 children among 6 critically injured during Diwali celebrations in Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: As many as six persons including three children and a woman sustained grievous burn injuries today during the bursting of firecrackers in separate incidents in Jajpur district.

According to a source, the mishaps were reported from Byasanagar and Korei localities.

Worth mentioning, Odisha Pollution Control Board (OPCB) has imposed restrictions on the bursting of firecrackers in the State on Diwali.

Green firecrackers alone are permitted and the crackers having barium nitrate have been prohibited.

The move came close on the heels of the Apex Court order on Tuesday clarifying that the ban on firecrackers containing barium nitrate binds every state and is not just limited to Delhi-NCR region.

People in Odisha will be allowed to burst permissible crackers between 6.00 am and 10.00 pm on Diwali.
