3-day All-India CA conference to kick off on Friday

Bhubaneswar, Aug 21:

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Bhubaneswar branch is going to organise its 11th ‘All India CA Conference-2014’ with the theme ‘Towards new Frontiers: Opportunities and Challenges’ at Hotel Mayfair Covention here from Friday, 22 August.

The three-day event will conclude on August 24.

ICAIThe event would be inaugurated by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan in the presence of other dignitaries including Pinaki Mishra, MP, Ansuman Das, CMD, Nalco, K Raghu, President of ICAI and Manoj Fadnis, Vice President of ICAI.

The three day conference would have eight technical sessions including two panel discussions.

The technical sessions would cover various aspects of professional importance such as Direct Tax-highlights of Union Budget-2014, value addition through availment of Cenvat Credit, standards on auditing, provision under the companies Act 2013 relating to SME/related party transactions, road map of IND AS, auditing under CBS and ERP platform.

These topics would be deliberated by renowned speakers and heads as well as senior officials of the NTPC, Nalco, Central Excise, Custom and Service Tax and and other sectors.

Apart from this the two panel discussions on the topics ‘Indian Economy’ and ‘Chartered Accountancy professions’ would be adressed by Pradeep Kumar Jena, principal secretary of Water Resources department, Jagi Mangat Panda, Managing Director, Ortel Communications, Dr A K Padhee, Commissioner-cum-secretary, Culture and Tourism Department, Vishal Dev, commissioner-cum-secretary, department of Industries among others.

The conference would be attended by more than 1200 delegates from across the state and the country. The event is expected to provide an opportunity to the delegates to interact with each other to build a network and benefit the profession at large, said Rajiv Sekhar Sahoo, chairman, organising committee, Bhubaneswar branch.
