3-day MSME event to begin at Baliyatra ground on Sunday

Enterprise Odisha-2013, a three-day national level vendor development programme-cum-industrial exhibition for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), would begin in the city here Sunday.

Union Minister Srikant Jena would inaugurate the programme in presence of state MSME minister Damodar Rout and BJD MLA Debashis Samantray while state MSME secretary Panchanan Dash would preside over the inaugural ceremony.

Over 25 PSUs and 110 MSMEs will participate in the event being jointly organised by the MSME Development Institute and the Central Tool Room and Training Centre in association with the Odisha Industries Association (OIA) at the Baliyatra ground here.

“The event would benefit the MSMEs of the state by providing marketing support with an aim to accelerate the pace of industrial growth in the state. The main focus of the programme is to bring buyers and sellers together on a common platform to understand each other’s capabilities, capacities and technical competency level,” OIA vice-president Rajesh Kanungo said.

The PSUs to participate in the programme include Nalco, MCL, NTPC, East Coast Railway, Tata Steel, HAL, PPT, DGS&D, CTTC, CIPET and IMMT.

Banks like SBI, UCO Bank, Central Bank of India, Bank of India, IDBI, Corporation Bank, NABARD and SIDBI have also given their consent to participate in the programme.
