3 dead after motorcycle rams into the rear of trailer truck in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Karanjia: In a tragic road mishap, at least three persons were killed on the spot as a speeding motorcycle on which they were travelling rammed into the rear of a trailer truck near Dari on NH-49 under Karanjia police limits in Mayurbhanj district, today.

Some locals noticed this and immediately informed Karanjia police about it. On being informed, Karanjia police reached the accident site and seized the bodies and sent them to a nearby health facility for post-mortem. Identities of the deceased have not been ascertained yet, a senior police official said.

“The accident took place in the evening when the three persons were on their way to Karanjia from elsewhere in the district. Perhaps, driver of the ill-fated motorcycle (bearing registration number OD-11 AA-1286) could not see the road clearly due to poor weather conditions and severe rain leading to untimely deaths,” an eyewitness stated.

Police have launched a probe into the road mishap.
