3 die as tractor plunges into pond in Odisha

Sundargarh: In a tragic incident, at least three persons, including two women, died and 10 others sustained injuries as the tractor carrying them plunged into a pond at Kolo village under Jarda panchayat in Odisha's Sundargarh district today.

The deceased have been identified as tractor driver Beda Bagh, Sulochana Bhukta and Tapaswini Pujahari.

The mishap took place when the victims were heading towards the panchayat office for receiving PDS rice. Police have recovered the bodies for post-mortem and admitted the injured ones to Gurundia Primary Health Centre for treatment. Further investigation was underway.
