3 killed, 13 injured as SUV hits auto-rickshaw, 2 motorcycles in Odisha’s Koraput

Bhubaneswar: At least three persons, including two women, were killed and 13 others were injured in a road mishap involving an SUV, an auto-rickshaw and two motorcycles in Odisha’s Koraput district today.

The mishap took place near Bijapur Square under Borigumma police limits in Koraput in the afternoon.

According to the locals, the SUV first collided with a bike coming from the opposite direction and then hit the auto-rickshaw from the rear before colliding with the second bike within a few seconds.

The SUV and the auto-rickshaw skidded off the road and fell into the nearby field due to the collision, locals said.

Three persons died on the spot while 13 other sustained injuries in the mishap.

The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Later, four of them were shifted to SLN Medical College and Hospital at Koraput after their condition deteriorated, sources said.

The police have launched a probe into the incident.
