3 killed as motorcycles collide in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A head-on collision between two motorcycles killed three persons and left another critically injured at Dianali Chhak under Patana police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, last night.

The deceased were identified as Trilochan Mohanta of Ambuapada village, Ramakant Nayak of Sorasakela village and Sunil Dash of Rudhiapada village. One Kamalakanta Mohanta of Padiapasi village was grievously injured in the accident and admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.

According to reports, the road mishap took place when Sunil and Ramakant were travelling on one motorcycle while Trilochan and Ramakant on another. The two vehicles collided head-on, leaving all of them injured

On being informed about the accident, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot, rescued the victims and took them to the Patana Community Health Centre in ambulance.

While two of them died during treatment at the healthcare facility, another succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the SCB Hospital.

Police have registered a case and started investigation into the incident.
