3 killed as SUV hits auto-rickshaw in Odisha

Sonepur: At least three persons, including a woman were killed and five others suffered grievous injuries after a speeding SUV had a collision with an autorickshaw and a two-wheeler on NH-57 near Badabahali Chhak in Sonepur district early this morning.

Sources said seven persons were travelling in a SUV, when the ill-fated vehicle hit an auto-rickshaw and and a motorcycle parked on roadside. Three occupants of the car died on the spot, while remaining others were severely wounded in the mishap.

The injured were later rushed to a hospital in the nearby for treatment.

Though identities of the deceased were not ascertained till the last report was filed, a police uniform with a badge mentioning ‘Snigdharani Suna-Inspector of Police’ has been recovered from the SUV.
