3-layer security ring for Odisha Assembly monsoon session

Bhubaneswar: Twin City Commissionerate Police has made extensive security arrangements for Odisha Assembly’s monsoon session beginning tomorrow.

“Extensive security arrangements have been made. The objective is to maintain foolproof security. To thwart any move by agitators to force their entry into the Assembly,” said Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. R P Sharma after conducting a review of the security arrangements.

A three-layer security ring has been put in place at the Assembly premises for the monsoon session, police sources revealed.

A total of 31 platoons of security personnel will be deployed to provide security cover to the Assembly, the sources added.

As many as 100 officers will be deployed for the purpose apart from deployment of Quick Response Team (QRT) and armed police personnel, the sources claimed.

Sources said while 60 CCTV cameras have been installed for surveillance purpose, two control rooms have been set up to monitor security arrangement.

The DGP accompanied by Director Intelligence Wing, Twin City Police Commissioner and other senior police officers inspected the security arrangements.
