Rourkela: In an unfortunate incident, a 3-month-old baby girl died after allegedly being administered a wrong vaccine by an Anganwadi worker in Malgodown area under Uditnagar police limits in Odisha's Rourkela.

The parents of the deceased today lodged a complaint with police alleging that an Anganwadi worker administered a DPT vaccine to the baby yesterday at an Anganwadi centre near Malgodown here.

The condition of the baby deteriorated and she died 2-3 hours after the administration of the vaccine, they alleged. Police have started investigation into the incident.

"A case has been registered. The post-mortem will be carried out by a team of doctors. We are trying to figure out the negligence, if any," a police official said.
