3 months after marriage, couple commits suicide in Odisha

Bhadrak:  In a tragic incident, a couple allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison only three months after marriage at Sapur village under Dhamnagar police station in Bhadrak district late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Dharmendra Tripathy and Purnima Tripathy.

Sources said Dharmendra had married Purnima of Banki in Cuttack district on May 9. However, both used to fight with each other over some issues frequently.

On the fateful night, Dharmendra consumed poison at around 1 AM, following which his wife took the same step. Both were rushed to hospital in Dhamnagar and later referred to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital (DHH) as their condition deteriorated. While   Dharmendra died on the way, his wife succumbed while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and begun an investigation into the incident.
