3 more drive-in COVID vaccination centres launched in Odisha capital; slot booking starts today

Bhubaneswar: After successful operation of the first drive-in COVIID-19 vaccination centre, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has set up three more similar facilities in the capital city.

The three new drive-in vaccination centres are located at Utkal Kanika Galleria mall (parking lot) at Kalpana Square, Symphony mall (parking lot) at Rudrapur and KIIT University Cricket Stadium at Patia.

Informing this, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said citizens aged above 45 years, who have already taken the first dose, can book their slots for the second jab at these centres from 6 pm today. Total 300 slots per location will be available from May 11 to May 15.

Without slot booking, no vehicle will be allowed inside the centres for the vaccination.

So far, 5 lakh people have been administered with both the jabs in the state capital, the official informed.

Regarding vaccination at private hospitals, the Commissioner further said immunization of people aged between 18 and 44 years at private hospitals will begin once more number of state procured Covaxin reaches Odisha.
